Perhaps you have felt alone before in your writing and activist work, particularly in the pandemic. Perhaps you have felt the weight of always being called upon to explain your right to breathe and live free. The Write Side by Side: Prompt Bundle consists of a prompt for every day for 30 weeks and centers the voices and experiences of BIPOC writers (and those who would like to use writing as a medium) to do the work of revolution, reconciliation, radical imagination, and reckoning.
Your work is urgent and necessary and transformational! Write Side by Side and learn strategies to push beyond your limits and the limits of our knowledge or the form of your work to something decidedly new, exciting, and welcome in its shock and glory.
*While this Prompt Bundle is entirely asynchronous and you can go through the entire thing alone, we highly encourage you to invite a friend to write alongside you and be your accountability partner.
This bundle includes:
- Prompts with recommended reading/watching/listening lists
- Prompts that take inspiration from the work of June Jordan, Melvin Dixon, Marsha P. Johnson, Aurora Levins Morales, Camille Dungy, Octavia Butler, Natasha Marin, Regie Cabico, Pamela K. Santos, Barbara Jane Reyes, Tongo Eisen-Martin, Shin Yu Pai and more
- Prompts that will help you start off that artist statement and grant application that you never got to write while providing guiding questions, resources, and samples
- Prompts that invite you to dance and play
**Because TSP is not a big organization and the payment system we use charges a fee per purchase, we generally do not offer refunds once enrolled, so please consider carefully whether you would like to participate. If there is an extreme circumstance that requires you to drop out of the program, we may be able to offer credit towards future projects, assessed case-by-case.
